Years ago, brimming over with ideas, ambition, optimism and a healthy dose of naivete, we built and ran a small resort and restaurant here on the island.  It was an experience we’re forever grateful we had… and one we’re even more grateful is in the rear view.  No more stress dreams about the sound a thermal printer makes when it spits out food orders on a night the kitchen is getting crushed!

Good Eats

Having this experience under our belts let us hit the ground running a bit menu-wise in opening the camp.  Whereas meals at the camp are not “fancy” they are certainly tasty.   We do our best  to incorporate what’s local and fresh.

Coffee is on by 6:00 AM.  Breakfast is served shortly thereafter.  For both guided and DIY days, we’ll pack boat lunches of sandwiches or wraps.  Dinner is served at 6:00-6:30 family style.  After dinner, weather permitting, Andress lights a campfire by the water’s edge.  Then sleep, wake, repeat.

Out at our palapa bar, there’s a big Yeti filled with cold Belikin’s and soda, and the bar shelves are stocked with all the basics.  Certainly, if there’s something specific you enjoy drinking, bring a bottle with you.  Drinks are self-serve, on the honor system.  You won’t get a bill before you leave, we just ask that all guests chip in according to what they’ve drank, so we can keep things stocked for the next guests.  This system has served us pretty well for the last 6 years.  Everyone knows that their fishing karma depends on it.  Last one up at the bar, please hit the light
